Color and surface gloss stability of bis-acryl and resin composite after exposure to cigarette smoke

Objective: To evaluate color and surface gloss stability of bis-acryl resins resin composites, submitted to artificialstaining with cigarette smoke. Material Methods: Specimens each material were prepared (n=15). Two resincomposites (GrandioSO [RCG], Filtek Supreme [RCZ]) five (Luxatemp Star [BisLUX], Protemp4[BisPRO], Structor3 [BisSTR], Visalys Temp [BisVIS] Yprov [BisYPR]) tested. Initial was assessed using aspectrophotometer a glossmeter. Samples smoke exposure (10 cigarettes under8 minutes per cycle). After 3 6 cycles, reassessed. Final readings performed after brushprophylaxis. Data analyzed two-way repeated ANOVA Tukey’s test (p<0.05). Results: Differences andinteraction factors (p<0.01) detected for both readings. Resin composites the least affectedby aging, reduction prophylaxis. among resins, better results forBisLUX BisPRO. BisPRO BisSTR, showed in 60 cigarettes, while BisYPR decreased atall evaluated periods. Conclusion: are less susceptible changes exposure, bis-acrylresins brand-dependent. Prophylaxis negatively influenced most tested materials.KEYWORDSBis-acryl resins; Color; Composite Smoke; Temporary dental restoration.
